Bierlein Assists Hemlock, Michigan Grain Elevator Fire
With the help of more than 46 fire crews/fire trucks from around the state, Bierlein was contacted to assist in helping battle the smoldering grain elevator. A 345 Caterpillar high reach was sent to the scene, removing structural steel and smoldering debris off the top of the dome to help the firefighters extinguish the fire.

On December 18, 2022, at around 10:30 p.m. EST, The Andersons, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANDE) became aware of a fire in the corn storage dome at its grain facility located at 485 S. Hemlock Road in Hemlock, Michigan. The fire was confined to the covered corn storage dome. Multiple fire stations responded to the site and the fire has been contained. No injuries have been reported. The Andersons appreciates the quick action of the first responders. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and an investigation is underway. No further information is available at this time.
